* Petersfield at its Best Awards

Following on from the success of the inaugural Food Awards at this year’s Local Food Festival, Petersfield Events and The Petersfield Post are launching the Petersfield at its Best awards at the August Festivities.

The Awards have been launched to give recognition to the Town's voluntary sector, which Petersfield Festivities has supported from its inception by providing a Community village with free stall space, and opportunities to perform on stage.

On Sunday 30th August we will be holding a Petersfield at its Best afternoon, on stage in The Square, and this will incorporate the awards and entertainment.

There will be an initial period of nominations, from which representatives will be chosen and voted for by readers of The Petersfield Post. The awards were launched in The Petersfield Post on July 8th and nominations are now open.

August Bank Holiday Festivities - 2008

To see photos please click here.

We have been overwhelmed with the response to this weekend's second Petersfield Festivities – over 15,000 visitors enjoyed a wide range of free activities and entertainment on offer. "I have never seen so many people in The Square" as former mayor Elsa Bulmer said.

We believe that we have again demonstrated that the heart of Petersfield belongs to the people, and with a bit of imagination, an event that has something to appeal to everyone can be created, and delivered.
